We regularly take on appeal cases where clients were represented by another firm but wish to instruct us to appeal a matter which has gone wrong for them. We can assess the trial transcripts and analyse any legal unfairness in the proceedings. We can also assess any new evidence that might have been overlooked and not presented at the original trial. Appeals are not readily granted and to find and present a compelling argument can be a lengthy and costly process. To demonstrate sufficient reasons to successfully appeal a conviction and/or sentence requires time and funding to ensure that a detailed analysis may lay the grounds for compelling argument to take before the courts.
